We have just visited the British Normandy Memorial in Arromanches where we gathered at its centre to lay a wreath on behalf of all children and staff of the Normandy July 2023 residential. The view out to Gold beach, the British Landing Beach, was magnificent.

Again a passer-by stopped to talk to us about the children’s excellent behaviour and engagement in learning. He was also keen to know about the Turing Scheme which has funded everyone’s travel, accommodation and living and organisational costs and is sure to find out more through the DMAT website.

So we leave behind the fields of blue cornflowers – worn for remembrance and the equivalent of our red poppies, to make our return to the chateau for  a well-deserved dinner.
