Holsworthy College wear the rainbow!

09 July 2022 |

On Friday 1st July, Holsworthy Community College celebrated its inaugural Rainbow Day!

Our students and staff came to school in their own clothes to “wear the rainbow” to raise money for the Intercom Trust, a local LGBT charity, along with raising money to help us buy a new defibrillator with Jay’s Aim. A fantastic £422 was raised for these great causes through the “wear the rainbow” initiative.

We also raised a further £22.10 for Intercom Trust from the sale of LGBT pin badges, which some of our young people were selling at break time. It was lovely to see so many of our young people proudly waving the Pride Flag – many students also brought their own and proudly wore them around the school!

The day was a great success and the first of many going forward. Holsworthy College is an inclusive school which welcomes and celebrates diversity and is proud to support the young people who are a part of our community.
