We have had a full day of activity today: our morning took us to Le Mont St Michel where we climbed the ancient cobbled steps and walked around the ramparts leading us to the very top to see the Abbey, originally constructed under the orders of William the Conqueror and overseen by his half brother, Bishop Odo. The descent through the winding steps and streets provided quite a spectacle with the mass of red caps and hoodies interspersed with the mustard tops of our wonderful Transition Leaders, keeping the children together.
After a much-needed hearty lunch, we found a grassy spot to start our sketches of the mount, ready for watercolour painting.
Visits to the biscuit shop provided another opportunity for children to use their euros to practise using their French to make a purchase.
We are packing our bags tonight before a fun final evening of activities at the chateau.
