Le Mont St Michel

05 June 2024 |

We had an early start for the longer coach journey to Le Mont St Michel. As we approached we could see the ‘Disney-like’ structure on the horizon. We climbed the 380+ steps to the top of the fortress to visit the abbey and learned about why Mont St Michel had been built under the orders of William the Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings in 1066 as a safe refuge from any potential attackers.

We have had a hearty lunch in the shade of the trees and are ready for the activities this afternoon.

Children once again have been amazing! We have received so many compliments from British tourists as well as those from other countries.
