28 March 2023 | ,

Lydford Primary has reason to celebrate as it has been awarded the Woodland Trust’s Green Tree School Platinum award. This is a remarkable accomplishment that acknowledges the school’s dedication to outdoor education, forest school, environmentalism and global citizenship. The Green Tree School Platinum award is the highest honour that the Woodland Trust bestows, and it is well deserved by Lydford Primary.

The school has demonstrated a deep and consistent commitment to promoting nature and wildlife in its local environment through a wide range of activities. The children have shown a great understanding of how to care for the natural world through their learning, and they have put this knowledge into practice in many ways. From creating habitats for animals to planting trees and flowers, the children have done an outstanding job of making their school a more eco-friendly and sustainable place.

A special mention must go to Mrs Waddington, who has led the school’s efforts in this area of the curriculum. Her leadership and dedication have been instrumental in achieving this remarkable award. She has submitted a substantial portfolio of learning to the Woodland Trust, demonstrating the hard work and achievements of the students.

The Green Tree School Platinum award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire school community. It shows that Lydford Primary is committed to providing an exceptional education that encompasses not only academic learning but also environmental awareness and citizenship.

We would like to thank the school’s staff, parents, and most importantly, the students for their continued support for the school’s curriculum and educational priorities.
