Did you know the children at Boasley Cross Primary School have a great reason to look forward to Fridays? They find out which of them has won the Boasley book raffle!

Friends of Boasley Cross Primary School (FOBCS) has collaborated with the school’s student librarians and teaching staff to devise a peer lead reading for pleasure scheme.

Each Friday the book raffle winner gets to choose a new book they would like to read that isn’t in the school library, FOBCS purchase the book and the winner takes that book home for as long as they wish to enjoy it.

When they have finished, the book returns to the school library, gets recommended to others and also has the name of the child who chose it added inside the front cover.

Every child in the school will get the opportunity to choose, enjoy and recommend a book, and whilst they wait for their name to be drawn on a Friday, they have the newly refurbished library with its recently refreshed reading selection to continue their reading journey.
