Vicki Jordan was successful in securing funding from RiPL to fund for an online subscription to the Language Gym for some of the mixed aged KS2 classes in other schools across the Trust. Pupils have been completing weekly online games to practise language learnt in lessons. Vicki has been supported with her research project, by Bernadette Holmes MBE, bye-fellow of the University of Cambridge and DfE advisor for the upcoming reforms in GCSEs for MFL.
RiPL is a group of researchers, practising teachers, teacher educators and policy makers interested in Research in Primary Languages.
Vicki’s research project will be presented at the ‘Languages Across the Primary Curriculum’ RiPL event on the 21st July 18:30-20:00. Gina Ruby from North Tawton was also successful in securing some RiPL funding to arrange for a French theatre company to perform to Key Stage 2 pupils from North Tawton and South Tawton Primaries.
