Visit school websiteSouth Tawton Primary School is a medium sized school with 204 pupils on roll and is in the heart of Dartmoor. The school is very much part of the local community and participates in many local events. In September 2016, we took the Little Beacons (the local Pre- School) into the Governance of the school and this has helped to develop those transition between school and pre-school arrangements into school with immense success.
The school has a strong community ethos and is proud of its sporting prowess: regularly participating in competitive sporting events held within the local area against other primary schools and providing a variety of extracurricular sports clubs across the normal school week.
We are a brand new school which opened in September 2018 for reception aged children. As each year passes, we will grow incrementally year on year until we eventually reach our capacity of 420 pupils. Our Nursery opened for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years in September 2019. We are an inclusive Church of England school and we specialise in offering opportunities for outdoor learning and education.
