Safeguarding

Effective safeguarding policies are a crucial, necessary part of any Trust. Our Trust has extensive experience in developing and shaping these policies to ensure the continued safety and happiness of students across the region. We can support you with this process, by providing:

  • Policy reviews and support with reviewing and updating
  • Whole school/Trust safeguarding peer reviews to establish compliance and identify areas for development
  • Training for Local Stakeholder and Governing bodies. Support for newly appointed Designated Safeguarding Leads
  • Support establishing communities of practice for designated safeguarding personnel
  • Support with the safeguarding elements of the curriculum e.g. RSE

Throughout this process you would be supported by Barbara Manning, DMAT’s Associate Executive Director of Inclusion and Safeguarding Lead.

Lorraine Heath, CEO of the Uffculme Academy Trust, previously worked with Barbara to develop the Trust’s policies. Reflecting on their work together, she said:

‘Barbara has provided exceptional support to Trust safeguarding leads. Her knowledge and expertise have been invaluable in assisting leaders with complex and challenging casework. Barabra provides the Board with the appropriate assurances required regarding statutory obligations and has undertaken detailed reviews for Trustees of each school. She is compassionate, credible and highly competent. There is no doubt that Barbara’s work with UAT has added value to our offer.’
