The Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust is a forward-thinking family of 17 schools which is continuing to grow; with the award of a special free school and a number of management partnership arrangements with other local schools. We are a cross phase Trust of both primary and secondary schools with over 5000 children and young people and nearly 1000 colleagues working across our schools and networks. Our mission is to provide the highest possible quality of education for local children and young people, in order to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their background, are able to succeed and flourish. As a Trust we are committed to the development of all our staff; with opportunities for everyone connected to the Trust to grow and develop and therefore fulfil their ambitions.
By training to teach with us, you’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative network of teachers across our partnership of schools.
We are proud of the quality of training provided by the Dartmoor Teacher Training Partnership. However, don’t just take our word for it, hear directly from some of our former trainees:
The whole experience of the School Direct year was fantastic. I had all the support and specialist training required to facilitate my progress. It gave me the true school life experience and set me up well for my NQT year.
The whole experience of the School Direct year was fantastic. I had all the support and specialist training required to facilitate my progress. It gave me the true school life experience and set me up well for my NQT year.
From the moment the training began, I was totally immersed in the innumerable nuances of school life. For me, this was undoubtedly the best way to capture a true understanding of education in its widest sense and prepare me for my teaching journey. Training in an educational setting allowed me to observe pedagogical practices first-hand and draw on the expertise of experienced practitioners. This, together with their valuable support and guidance, helped me develop my own professional practice quickly and confidently.
